Masterclass | How To Build A Drum Solo w/Tristan Miller

Join us for an unforgettable Masterclass at Drums Etc! Every month, we are hosting a different expert to share their expertise during hands-on educational workshops! This is one of many new ventures for Drums Etc in 2024. Each masterclass will be an intimate, ticketed event where you can ask questions, participate in demos, and get specialized advice and guidance!

Tristan Miller leads this class specifically focused on building drum solos! Drum solos can be a highlighted feature in live performance, but can also take other forms such as breakdowns, transitions, and spotlights within a variety of situations. The knowledge Tristan shares here will be incredibly applicable to any performing/recording drummers repertoire! During the class, there will be live demonstrations on a drum set focused on phrasing, creativity and audience participation in the creative process! This masterclass will be packed full of tips/tricks that will inspire you to get more creative with your playing!

Presenter Background:

Tristan was born and raised in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. He has a BS in Music Industry from Millersville University, where he also studied drums under Stephen Goss. Tristan has been playing the drums since the age of three and started taking drum lessons from grammy-nominated drummer Glenn Ferracone at the age of five.

Aside from playing in the Big Fat Meanies, Tristan has performed with many other groups and performed at many different venues and festivals, including MoPop festival in Detroit, Michigan, Lollapalooza in Chicago, Illinois and Gathering of the Vibes in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He has also performed for Grammy nominated guitarist Dweezil Zappa.
