Hey I'm Steve and I'm 24 years old. I've played on stage multiple times with different bands, but I've never been a part of a group that wants to go bigger than playing local shows once in a while. So I've been backed off of my pursuit of fame and stardom to just practice and learn some drum covers. Unfortunately, I tend to get bored doing the same thing day in day out, so now I'm looking to play with fellow musicians.
I am very much influenced by metal and metalcore. I actually have a set list of about 70 songs I am going to cover and put on Youtube to try to get noticed by drum companies, but I don't have a studio so I have nothing recorded yet. I've just learned how to play "I Hate Buffering" by The Devil Wears Prada, and "Closure" by Asking Alexandria. Next I'm going to attempt music by August Burns Red, Veil of Maya, and Motionless in White. I also like music by Story of the Year, Breaking Benjamin, Funeral for a Friend, Blink 182, and Innerpartysystem.
I also have quality gear. No mics at this point, but I do have a DDrum Ash kit, Evans Heads all around, Sabian AAX Cymbals, Pearl Hardware, and a DW 7000 Double Pedal. Plus I drive a Scion xB so I have no problem moving my drums around. I live in apartment so the acoustic kit doesn't get played at all, I have an electric kit that I practice on.
I'll try to play anything, but I'm not good at playing much outside of the rock/metal genre. I just want to rock out with some people who share the same musical passion as I do. Who knows, maybe it might even go somewhere big!!!
I work 3rd shift so my afternoons are pretty much completely free. Hit me up if my profile interested you at all.
